How it began…

It all started nearly 6 years ago with a rescue lab named Gracie. My aunt and uncle had recently rescued her when living in Dallas and I met her on a brief pre-COVID visit. I instantly fell in love and would start to care for her when I moved to Dallas in October of 2020. During my time in Dallas I spent some of my time nannying for a family with two dogs. I would joke with the girls I looked after that my dream was to get paid to be with dogs all the time. In 2024 I started picking up sitting and walking gigs through a pet care app. I soon realized it would be more beneficial for me and the dogs I cared for if I branched out and did my own thing. I registered Colleen’s Canine Care as an LLC in July of 2025 when I moved back to Jersey from Texas. Since then, I have strived to create a business rooted in compassion and individualize care.
